I have never been the seducer type. Not by a long shot. I have read books by and about historical and modern day Don Juan's such as Don Juan himself, Courtesan Ninon De Lenclos, Artist genius Pablo Picasso, and Novelist turn dating Guru Neil Strauss, etc. Although I have read much it isn't me and could never be. The modern sort is much to sanguineness and the old school seducer has enough props and backdrops to carry a huge farce for the conquest. Not for me. I still believe in chivalry and romance rather than the quick bait and tackle... I know surprising considering I'm a cynical bastard. In any case I will say that once it is on I can be the most amorous seducer there is and the secret is the romantic trip. Bed and breakfasts, impulsive trips to the center of a large hub or quiet spot where no one wanders except the seagulls.. course now it would be planned and not at all spontaneous. Smooth maneuvers takes time unless you plan on eating berries off trees... which actually can be fly mind you if you know which ones are not poisonous in advance.
Here is a story. I haven't done any of those in a while because last time I had it got ruined big time. Last year I took a "lover". No one actually says that but everyone knows I never do actual relationships. This was a old confidante of mine. It was cool, a total push pull dance that led up to a great thing. So everyone knows that in each seduction they will eventually fizzle so I decided to plan a romantic trip in order to push it along. I planned in one week to head to NY and see a Henry Rollins show that was happening in Times Square. She likes Rollins as much as I so I planned for tickets and rented a huge room with a king size in the Four Seasons. I called a favor on a homie out there from when I was still a concierge here. The stage was set. A cool show, room with a view of the lights a room stuffed with flowers and a bottle of champagne. Problem tho... her BF. Not that big of a problem being he knew about us being physical, more the "will her normal life permit her to run off a weekend?" So I decided to see how deep our thing was... was it just sex or did we have a connection. I wasn't stupid. Her dude is her love of her life but if this was just messing around this would be a waste... mind you I love doing shit like this, setting up a trip such as this is as gratifying doing the work as the ends. Anyway one day while we ate I said "I'f you weren't involved I would want you as my girl."..... It was like the fire that dropped the Hindedberg. With one bold articulation not only did i kill an awesomely planned excursion I killed some great sex and put a big awkward bolder in the friendship. I don't think the friendship ever recovered or will. I have since tried to keep it like that but alas.... Shit happens. I'm still pissed i didn't get to play my trump card, the romantic trip but I guess I may save that for the next one... who does not have a real relationship.
The moral is to not over think good things and enjoy yourself.
